church-website-design-package

I would love to to build your ministry website - yes it is my bread and butter (I'm a tentmaker website maker from Australia) but it's also a passion of mine - I love seeing the gospel working and I hope you will allow me to share with you why I think I can make a great church website for you and your church or ministry. I'm a specialist church web designer.

Back in 2002 I built my first ministry related website, www.breakingthedrought.com (Unfortunately, the site no longer exists, but can be seen at www.archive.org) It was a VERY basic website built using Frontpage. As a result I began to see the impact that ministry websites can have in bringing people to Christ, and introducing people to God related ideas.

Australia was in the throes of a terrible drought and that website was written by myself (I've been in ministry since 1997) to encourage both church people and others to pray for rain. I used some Bible stories and other 'answer to prayer' examples to promote this idea.

What made things exciting was that in my home town of Mt Morgan we had just recently had an amazing answer to prayer. Our town water supply had been empty and was filled to overflowing in 6 weeks. It was a great example of God's power to our community. This new website shared this information and also shared the gospel by declaring that there is a spiritual drought in our lives, and that it is curable - we need to "return to God."

Church Website ExampleMy return to God page was a very simple gospel presentation with a prayer to receive Christ, and a contact form to indicate a response. From late 2002 until the start of 2004, over 2000 people responded to the gospel on that page. As a pastor I was very excited and I began making other pages for all sorts of people and situations. I made pages for muslims, pages for geeks, pages for all types - and I saw a lot of responeses and generated a lot of interesting comment. I learned a lot about church web design at that time and have become a much better church web designer as a result.

In 2004 I was invited to attend the Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization Forum in Pattaya, Thailand. I was part of a Media focus group and together with 20 other media experts, we wrote a white paper on the use of Media and Evanglism - it is called "The Ark, The Rainbow and The Cross" - you can see it on the official website at http://www.lausanne.org/2004-forum/ig19.html. You will see my name in the credits on the last page of the paper. That was an exciting time.

Since my early days of digital evangelism and church website ministry, a lot of other things have happened. The result of all of that is that I believe I can help you build a great church website aimed at reaching out to your community, or to your "target audience" whether its believing people, or an unreached people group who have just connected to the net.

The Powereful Effect of a Church Website

Before the existence of the internet when people were wanting information on a subject (from dinosaurs right through to current affairs) it could often be found in a library, or sometimes by leaning over the fence and talking to a neighbour. The internet has changed that and today people go to Google for information and a split second later they have 50,000 pages on their topic of interest. The same is true of God, Jesus, Christ and our faith. Instead of attending church to find out about God, or asking a neighbour, Google provides the answers here too. Sadly the answers are not always correct. As a church or ministry you have a great opportunity to put your information where it needs to be and to be there when people are looking. You need a great church website designed by a great church website designer. This is where I can help.

Church Website Google SearchIn this hypothetical situation someone from my home town of goes to Google looking for a church to attend - they have been feeling guilty (aka convicted) because of sin in their life and they wish to do a "God thing" and feel better. So they type into Google the name of my home town and the word church to see if their are any churches in their town. They get a google result showing only 2 churches on the map - our church (Tagged A) and the Uniting Church/Methodist (Tagged B). My church website is also listed 3 times in the first page of Google Results.

As a result of this search, this searching and guilty person will visit my website and decide if they feel comfortable attending one of our services. If our church website didn't exist, or we didn't make proper use of Google's Local listings, we would not be located in that search, and the power of the internet for connecting with people would be lost.

A hundred years ago a minister would visit people, be welcomed and build a congregation by building a sense of community between people. Today, community is built mostly online through websites, social networks and email. A minister needs a good church web design, a good blog, and a good way of sharing regularly with people in his town. As a experienced church web designer I would be thrilled to help you with these things.

As a pastor and church web designer I have also discovered the amazing power of using Google Ads and Facebook Ads to promote ministries. One ministry we work with does international ministry in Africa and through Google Ads was able to connect with many of the right type of pastors in a short space of time. I love to help churches and ministries discover the power and potential of the internet for their congregations, and I believe I can do this better than most.

Essential Elements for a Church Website Design:

Churches and Ministries have specific requirements. Firstly there is the need to offer features that benefit existing members. Features that are useful include being able to listen to last weeks sermon, read last weeks newsletter, be updated on recent news, be informed of prayer needs, or post prayer requests.

From a pastor's point of view, it can be handy to email your congregation, or twitter a message to everyone with a cell/mobile phone. Copies of this go on the website too. A pastor can write a blog which will go on the website and be instantly indexed by Google and people can follow it by RSS feed.

It's also essential to have pages built specifically with the unchurched in mind. These pages present the church in a way that is relevant, modern, friendly and informational. They will typically focus on what the church does, its connection with community, will feature happy believers and invite a response of some sort. This response can be to ask if they would like more information in an email - and collect their email address. Or it could be to ask them to join a newsletter with a weekly encouragement from the pastor. This is non threatening and is a way of gently reaching out to people. It is a way of building trust with the unchurched or those who have felt hurt by a previous church.

Finally, another essential element of a church website is promotion for the website. Promotion is something we can help you with once your website has been built and launched.
