After you have invested good money in building your site, naturally you would expect that the expenses have stopped. But there are a number of other things you should really keep up on your site. Like an engine in your vehicle, there are things you should keep an eye on.
Here are a few things that need watching:
- Changes to Information. Is what the site says up to date?
- Software Updates. If you built with Wordpress or the equivalent, is it up to date? Is there a security patch (they come out regularly) and is your site now vulnerable to hackers as a result?
- Code Changes. As browsers update, and search engines change requirements, and web design standards improve, is your site still working well with the latest standards?
- Backups. Do you have a backup system in place in case anything goes down, or goes wrong? Are the latest changes to your site saved somewhere?
At WTQ we have a number of maintenance packages. All of them include regular backups stored offshore (in Singapore) but depending on your requirements they also include software updates, and/or regular website changes. Pricing starts from $33 per month (backups only) and we can also tailor an individual plan for your business if you need regular work on your site.
